Designing Responsive Experiences with Invisible Technologies
Session details:
Architects and media designers are finding common ground in creating responsive architectural spaces. Invisible sensing and interactive technologies are transforming visitor experiences by responding to—and even anticipating—their needs. These technologies seamlessly integrate with the architecture, often remaining hidden from view. Belle & Wissell and Okano Picard Studio, designers of award-winning installations like Understory at the Amazon Spheres, the responsive story world at Asurion's Nashville headquarters, and the Remembrance Gallery at the Washington State Fairgrounds, will share their design process. With their approaches to the efficiency of ideation, "getting real fast" prototyping, and quickly honing in on budgets, they will share some proven methods to their madness. Join team leaders Gabe Kean, Matt Arnold, Michael Picard, and Yousman Okano as they discuss how they incorporate these hidden technologies to transform architectural spaces.
